Time Stories Remain

The artwork was developed through original photography captured in Gastown, focusing on historic architecture, environmental atmosphere, texture, and the iconic steam clock as a visual symbol of continuity within the city. The original photograph was reconstructed and stylized in Adobe Photoshop through cinematic color grading, compositing, texture blending, atmospheric enhancement, and mixed-media inspired editing techniques to create a layered visual narrative between realism and graphic abstraction.

Custom typography systems, ink-inspired graphic motifs, compositional overlays, and editorial elements were designed in Adobe Illustrator to strengthen hierarchy, emotional tone, and visual rhythm throughout the composition. Particular attention was placed on balancing historical atmosphere with contemporary graphic language while using contrast, negative space, and texture treatment to reinforce the central narrative theme of time and memory.

This project reflects my interest in combining photography, conceptual storytelling, editorial design, and digital art direction into visually immersive experiences.
