Vancouver Downtown: Stories in the Dark

The artwork began through original photography captured in downtown Vancouver, focusing on environmental lighting, architectural framing, reflections, and the relationship between darkness and illuminated urban spaces. The raw image was further developed in Adobe Photoshop using cinematic color grading, compositing, exposure balancing, texture enhancement, and atmospheric editing techniques to strengthen the emotional tone and spatial depth of the scene.

Typography systems, graphic overlays, and interface-inspired motifs were designed in Adobe Illustrator to create a stronger editorial identity while guiding visual hierarchy and composition flow throughout the poster. Particular attention was placed on balancing large-scale typography with environmental storytelling, negative space, and architectural perspective to create a publication-inspired visual experience.

This project reflects my interest in combining photography, graphic communication, environmental storytelling, and digital art direction into immersive visual narratives.
