Vancouver Downtown Through Different Light

The project began through original photography captured in downtown Vancouver during nighttime conditions, focusing on reflections, artificial lighting, environmental texture, and spatial framing. The image was later reconstructed and art-directed in Adobe Photoshop using cinematic color grading, compositing, exposure control, atmospheric enhancement, shadow balancing, and depth-focused editing techniques to create a more immersive visual narrative.

Graphic motifs, typography systems, and interface-inspired visual elements were designed in Adobe Illustrator to strengthen composition flow, visual hierarchy, and editorial identity across the poster. Particular attention was placed on balancing typography with environmental storytelling while using color contrast and directional lighting to guide the viewer’s attention throughout the composition.

This project reflects my interest in combining photography, graphic communication, cinematic atmosphere, and digital art direction into visually engaging urban narratives.
